BIO

Hey, there! Learn a bit about my story.

IMG_0606.JPG

My name is Chelsea Stern, and I'm a senior Public Relations major in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and I minor in Information Management and Technology in the iSchool at Syracuse University.  Currently, I am involved in Hill Communications, Women in Communications and PRSSA .  Check out my resumé for more information.

I love to travel and experience new cultures, but before I can complete my world travels, I've begun by navigating the food and beverage scene in my local cities. As you browse my website, you'll find that one of my favorite channels of exploration is coffee!

I have a knack for writing in AP style, a keen eye for design and a passion for storytelling. I have a personal feeling of responsibility to continue learning and share my knowledge and a teacher and mentor. Also, did I mention I have a serious need for caffeine? With my skills, I plan to land a career in PR, engaging publics through storytelling on various media platforms.  I strive to curate content that is authentic to my personality and aligns with my personal code of ethics.

Professor and Employer Testimonials

About: About

Brad Horn
Professor of Practice of Public Relations at
the Newhouse School

"Chelsea has demonstrated a commitment to excellence throughout her Newhouse career, both in the classroom and in extra-curricular activities. She’s creative, dynamic and a true professional. I can’t wait to see where the future leads Chelsea, as those who work with her will undoubtedly be inspired by her talent and the outlook she exudes."

Dr. Kelly Gaggin
Assistant Teaching Professor of Public Relations at the Newhouse School

"I see you being such a strong mentor to peers and employees moving forward. A true rockstar in our midst!"

Jackie Miller
Senior Director, US Communications at OpenTable,
Former Vice President at M Booth

"Chelsea is a PR force to be reckoned with—she is curious, creative, collaborative and wise beyond her years. During her internship at M Booth, I was so impressed with her finger-on-the-pulse creativity, always flagging trends and pop culture moments and brainstorming unique ways to insert our clients into these relevant conversations. Internship highlight: she secured a feature story on FoodNetwork.com, a key publication for our Rao’s Homemade client, to announce the launch of its new Limited Reserve line—a huge business priority. The story was a homerun! She’s an amazing team player who raised her hand for any task, big or small, and always with a smile on her face. I’d hire Chelsea again in a heartbeat, and any organization would be lucky to have her in its ranks."
