MY PERSONAL CODE OF ETHICS

How do I carry myself as a PR practitioner?

Purpose: In my pursuit of public relations I will aim to be a transformational leader
to make connections and build relationships rooted in empathy and authenticity.

DEDICATION

While representing an organization, it’s essential that I put in the utmost effort to properly advocate for the organization and serve the public interest.  I strive to find a balance between the contributions I make to corporate concerns and the betterment of the community.

CONTINUED LEARNING

Prioritize education of ever-changing issues and events on a local, national or global scale. Key linkages cannot be understood until the communicator does the due diligence to learn about how their life experiences differ, especially of oppressed communitites.

TRANSPARENCY

Effectively communicate the intended messages and actions throughout every step of the process, unless reasonably told to keep information in strict confidence. The authenticity of an individual or an organization is reflected by the willingness to produce truthful work.  I will be explicit and direct as a food- and beverage-obsessed brand and an authentic human.

PROFESSIONALISM

Be aware and cautious of self-representation interpersonally and on social platforms, as personal posts and interactions reflect an organization’s values.  Maintaining an appropriate level of professionalism should be top-of-mind while on and off the job.  I understand that my online presence is a platform for personal expression, but it also serves as a reflection of my priorities.

MUTUAL RESPECT

Value linkages’ opinions equally and showing objectivity when listening to others’ ideas.  I will make an effort to create an open environment where every person feels comfortable and encouraged to share different perspectives.  I can't be a great leader without listening and building on the contributions of others.
